DESCRIPTION:Adaptive books are modified reading materials with added visua
 l supports. Our presenter, Rita Angelini, has been making adaptive books f
 or years. These books can be used with children with a variety of developm
 ental differences, including autism, challenged fine motor skills, languag
 e delays, visual challenges, and complex bodies in general. They can also 
 assist reluctant readers.Family members, aides, community volunteers/group
 s, service organizations, social workers, teachers, librarians or media ce
 nter helpers, and disability advocates are all welcome to come to this eve
 nt. This is a one-hour workshop to learn how to turn a picture book into a
