Purpose of Meeting
The lecture series was created as a legacy of Freeport native, Richard F. Sokup (who portrayed Stephen A. Douglas) and focuses on the Lincoln-Douglas Debates of 1858, political events surrounding and leading to the Civil War, and modern-day political discourse.
