The speakers will provide data-driven information about the effects of climate change in Northwest Illinois and what federal, state, and community leaders and organizations are doing to address or prepare for climate change in our country, state, and region. They will also provide attendees with information on what they can do to mitigate the effects of climate change in their own lives. DR. JOHN HERRMANN, DVM, MPH, DACT is a Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus of Veterinary Clinical Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of Illinois, where he was on the faculty from 2004 through 2022. Prior to joining the faculty, he spent 25 years in private practice, working primarily with dairy herds, and also served as a Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the United States Senate offices of Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL). He has extensive public health policy experience at local, state, and federal levels and has served on the Illinois State Board of Health for the past 12 years.
