Description
Adaptive books are modified reading materials with added visual supports. Our presenter, Rita Angelini, has been making adaptive books for years. These books can be used with children with a variety of developmental differences, including autism, challenged fine motor skills, language delays, visual challenges, and complex bodies in general. They can also assist reluctant readers.
Family members, aides, community volunteers/groups, service organizations, social workers, teachers, librarians or media center helpers, and disability advocates are all welcome to come to this event. This is a one-hour workshop to learn how to turn a picture book into an adaptive book so that everyone can enjoy reading.
